WHAT:

Problems identified with old design:

1. CURRENTLY GLOOMY, TENSE, LACKS HIERARCHY.

2. NO INTENDED ATMOSPHERE / EXPERIENCE.

3. NO ENERGY, NO WANT TO RETURN.

The old design used cold/ uninviting materials like brick, steel and glass; the overall station felt exposed and uninspired. After collecting user feedback, I found out more about what caused users discomfort like lack of heating or interest and aimed to offer something brighter and more welcoming to promote more responsible travel and give a pleasant first impression of Sheffield.
