LAST COMPLETED-SHEFFIELD INTERCHANGE

WHO:
Intended for all age groups and users of the interchange (staff, bus users and general pedestrians passing through to cut their route short).



WHAT:
Problems identified with old design:
1. CURRENTLY GLOOMY, TENSE, LACKS HIERARCHY.
2. NO INTENDED ATMOSPHERE / EXPERIENCE.
3. NO ENERGY, NO WANT TO RETURN.
The old design used cold/ uninviting materials like brick, steel and glass; the overall station felt exposed and uninspired. After collecting user feedback, I found out more about what caused users discomfort like lack of heating or interest and aimed to offer something brighter and more welcoming to promote more responsible travel and give a pleasant first impression of Sheffield.
